295/55/15 on Weld RTS series wheels or???
I have brand new set of Drag Radials from Goodyear. 295-55-15, looking to order the new Weld Pro Stars RT-S series with a 15x10 7.5 backspace.
Anyone run a tire this big with no modifications to shorten the rear end??
I know we will relocate the rear control arms but trying to avoid rear end change because of time. Track opens in two weeks here.
Or should a guy run the ol' Greg Weld with a 6.5 backspace???
Any drag race set up close to this???
Thanks

Different offest for a narrowed rear- but if you run a 7.5"BS (mine are 4.5"BS) they will sit like this. No special work on the inner fenders, but my outer fender lips are rolled. No scrubs unless I articulate the suspension alot. I have yet to scrub them in normal driving situations.

You could probably get away with the stock control arms for a while.I am running stock on my car with 325/50/15's. I had to massage the lip of the passenger side control arm a bit with a BFH, but it works for now.
I also had to roll the fenders, and alot of BFH's but it is pretty functional now, I still get just a very small amount of rub around fast corners when the rear end shifts left or right, but not much at all. I know if I had lowers, and adjustable panhard bar with the rod ends I could correct it, just have not got around to doing all the suspension yet.

Thanks for all the information guys. I am ordering wheels on Thursday and will begin doing some work in the next few weeks.
Believe it or not, we are building a "SWING ARM" in the car. Pulling out the torque arm and mounting another shock within the arm itself. Somewhat like having two sides to the torque arm but with quite a bit more technology and geometry in the chassis.....
Should be interesting when we get to that point. For now I am thinking I just want to stick with the stock width housing and make it work until we get the arm done and can install it....
Thanks AGAIN!!!!!
