4l60e info/help
The 4l60e in my 2000 T/A bumps the rev limiter at WOT from 2nd to 3rd, for it to shift I have to let off of the throttle let it shift then continue on.
I was changing my trans fluid and filter and checking the solinoids, they all were o.k except the "B" or 2-3 shift solinoid, it was a bit looser than the other's and when i pulled it out, there was no spring pressure like the other three had, actually there was no spring at all behind that particular solinoid, which left it loose upon inspection, among the others.
So, should all four solinoid/valves have springs or is it normal for that one "B" or 2-3 shift valve not to have a spring.
NOTE; trans. shifts nicely at normal driving speeds and under moderate throttle application, fluid shown no signs of burning, and passing gear and or kick down @ 60 mph to WOT leaves about a foot and a half black mark on the pavement! so it works just fine except for going from 2nd to 3rd at WOT.

When is it being commanded to shift? And whats your limiter set at? A data log would be very helpful to see when its being commanded to shift. I have seen stock 60s take 500 rpm to make a WOT 2/3 shift.

Yes the solenoid being loose is normal for the B solenoid. There is not a spring for this valve lineup. More than likely your issue is with the tune or you are beginning to have an issue with the 3-4 clutch. Vince

I'm experiencing the same problem, I'm rolling through the 1/8 at high 80- low 90 MPH doing 6.8 - but my 3rd gear just wount go in. I commaded it to shift from even 5500- & it just stays in 2nd gear. I did tried coming off the throttle & stepping back on it see if it takes it & nothing, its not shifting to 3rd.
I dont know what to do

Been thier guys, was really hurting my times and my exhaust was so loud u could here it hit the limiter on the video from the seats, my solution, stock 4l60E is garbage anyway, to weak, got an FLT level 4 for a good price and that alone with a good tune shaved 2 tenths

As for BottleRocket27 he inspected his with no signs of damage, i think it maybe something with "programming" - a few guys here have upgraded to newer PCM (1999-2002) & has helped with the delay between shift, i was experience the delay as my car was getting faster but now it just not going into 3rd at WOT.
