Did some Camaro shifters not have first gear

Yes they did, it was an option with the 2:73 rear end gears, also had all season radial tires. My 1997 Trans am had the same thing, so I just popped off the cover of the shifter an dremeled out the little plastic piece that keeps ya from going into first gear. Hope this helps ya..

I don't have the car anymore but once you remove the shifter cover you will see the little black plastic piece I am talking about. If you don't have a dremel just take sometgung an bend it back out of the way.

Ok. I found it right after I posted. Just cut it with a razor knife.
