Default want 525-565hp at the flywheel out of l76, what do i need?

Ok i have a g8 gt with the l76 in it. looking to make 440-475whp or roughly 525-565 at the crank. Do i need to beef the bottom end up to live at this power level in a daily driver that will get beat on on occassion? it wont see track use much if at all, but might get layed into on occassion. Also what cam and head package will it take to get there. I keep getting differeing opinons some say the stock heads with a good cam and supporting mods will get it done?

You won't need to forge the engine at those power levels, but little things like arp rod bolts and stronger valvetrain will help with longetivity...especially if you plan on winding it.

There are lots of choices and combinations that work, you just have to speak with a vendor or tuner and see what they recommend. And yes, it can be done with stock casting heads with a good port job.

well ive been told from a couple vendors that if im happy towards the bottom of that range 445-450whp that i can get it done on bone stock l92 heads with the right cam? i find that hard to phathom from a stock head man times are good huh. whats the cost typically to change out the rod bolts? and what valvetrain is everyone having good luck with?

Get a custom ground cam and the valve train to match it. 1000.00

Cam 400-500
Pac Springs and retainers 300-400
Rebuilt stock rockers 250
Pushrods 80-150.
Roller Lifters depending on the stock ones mileage. Isky (Moral) 400-500.

I would change the valves out on the heads. This will help with valve control and valve train wear. 400-500
While you are changing the springs do all the seals and a valve job. 150-300
Gaskets and misc stuff such as bolts, sealant etc. 300-400

Not sure on doing the rod bolts
I'm sure you can get by with out doing alot of this depends how your going to use your car. Dyno queen, street or drag. I went with all the above for durabilty and it was a new build

You should make your goal with stock unported heads and the 76 intake.
