97 LS-1 Corvette heads question I came across a good deal on some 97 corvette heads for my 2002 LS-1 motor. I want to have some heads ported and was wondering if it would be better to work the 02 heads or the 97 ones. I just want to make sure that I will not run into any problems if I decide to port the 97 heads. I am new to this so any opinions please. If I sent heads off to be worked will most places core exchange different years?

Re: 97 LS-1 Corvette heads question 97 heads use different valve covers and coil pack holder arrangements. 97 castings dont flow as well as 2002 for several reasons. I would port your 02 castings or get a core set of 2000+ castings to work.
