Default Painted my engine cover!

Well, since I like the fact that the stock caddy motor cover cuts out almost all valvtrain and injectors noise I kinda wanted to keep it vs the red FRC's... So this is what I did last night.

-using a scotch brite pad and some purple power degreaser I cleaned up real good.
-blew it all down with an air gun and dried it.
-masked it all off and trimmed with a razor blade.
-tack clothed it.
-hit it with 3-4 coats of adhesion promoter.

-then some semi high heat SATIN black paint. About 3-4 coats, used the whole can. I say satin because flat is too flat and gloss looks cheap. Satin is a nice OEM match i think. WHATCHA THINK!?

I've definitely noticed more injector noise with LS2 covers. That paint job looks good, but it still sort of sucks you can't see more engine.

I'm thinking about sticking some dynamat or something on the FRC's just to see if it helps.

Looks like a big black garbage can lid instead of big grey garbage can lid.

I was thinking of doing the same thing myself. It really does its job cutting down on the valvetrain noise.

I thought about that. But black is black as silver is silver, to me anyway lol

There's this place by my house that will put any paint code in a spray can... I used them when I did my valve covers on my cobra (mineral grey). Turned out very nice. Don't skimp on the prep....

X2. It def helps quiet the valvetrain noice that gets transfered inside the car.
