Default WTH does the black plastic vent tube go on 4l60e

I have everything back together but the black plastic/rubber breather tube is confusing it seems to have a small 3 in black ribber hose that connects to the top off the trans metal port, the long black hose runs to the rear of trans but there is a white plastic valve of some sort does this just sit there or am i missing a place where i plugs in. When I pulled it off the tube just fell off when i lowered the trans so I did not see where it went and proper location,. Let me know and any pics would help thanks

Feel on top of the tranny, right behind where the bellhousing connects and there is a metal vent tube. It goes there. You'll probably have to unbolt the crossmember and let the tranny sag to get to it.

I got the short end of the black tube on the metal vent but what about the little white valve both tubes are connected to ? does it just sit on top of the trans?

Thats so when the trans gets hot the fluid will come up from there and vent out. The deal is when fluid comes out from there, route it to were the fluid won't fall in the exhaust and reduce the chance of a fire.
