4L60E Transmission Rebuild Kit
Transmission is on it's way out, and I'm going to rebuild it myself. Without getting crap from anyone about difficulty, experience, etc, I need some insight on the rebuild kits out there. What has worked what hasn't worked? What are the major kinks the 4L60E throws at you? Was planning on the Monster Mega Kit, and possibly getting separate parts through PATC.
Car is a 2000 Trans Am, putting down 351 ft-lbs of torque. Doubt it will ever see over 500 ft-lbs, and most likely putting a 3200 or 3600 stall in it, along with the rebuild. Thanks in advance, Nick

I have a Monster Mega kit in mine and my friend has one in his also. We've had no problems out of them. Neither one of us puts very many mile on our cars though. But his has stood up to some mid 11 second passes with no problems.

You will need the bushing driver set, clutch spring compressor for the two drums, low/reverse clutch spring remover tool, and the lip seal installer tool. If you have someone who can help you out here, that would be a great on your first build, if not there are books and DVD for this, plus I offer any technical help that might be needed. Dana

The Monster SS kit is ok but if I ordered mine all over again I would buy every thing separate and save some money...It also needs more parts to hold anything beyond stock ponies......and the 3-4 is only a six stack Raybestos clutches
