To start off, I don't know a lot about these cars. My friend has a 99'TA automatic. It's a heads/cam car, with heads, ls6 intake, 12 bolt with 3.42's, 3500 yank converter and your popular mods.
We race almost all 1/8 mile around here. The car was running 7.30's before the 4l60e started giving trouble. He never drives the car except to shows and at the track which it's trailered to. They've started a 7.0 Pro Tree index class here.
He contacted Rossler Transmissions and was going to go with a TH350, they talked him into a Power Glide since it's not street driven hardly ever. So, he's gonna do that with a PTC converter that will stall 3500 foot brake and 4200 on the trans brake. Going to 4.56 gears in the rear.
Do you think this is a wise decision? Do you think this could get him in the 7.0 range without a power adder?
Thanks
