Default How much Power added by Compression and Cam

Well bought a motor last night for the bird.

List of mods to it are

4 Bolt LT1
Holley 58MM TB
42 pound injectors
Flat top forged pistons
Complete Comp Valve train
EWP
MSD Opti
MSD Coil
CC306 cam

6.9 on 150 shot trapped 100 and 7.5 on motor didn't ask for MPH for it

He says it compression is bumped to maybe 11:1 I was wondering what I could bump it up to with gaskets only and how much power do you gain from a point of compression

That and going with a custom cam instead of the CC306???

Figured there is time to be made up in lil places like this and just makes me feel better if i go through it

Looking forward to hearing what yall say!!

How is the compression raised? only two valve reliefs, or thinner gaskets? increasing the CR by a full point can give you 15-25 hp, it just depends on a few things.

a custom grind can get you another 15-25 depending on how radical you go with the custom.

whatever compression is doesn't really matter to me. He said it was raised a lil not much will find out 100% next weekend once I get it all torn down and get a part number off the pistons.

I Just want to know how much it can be lifted from just gaskets I've heard shim gaskets and stuff bump them up almost a solid point not 100% on that though

well I know the guy that built that car if that is the case...the previous owner

IIRC it's just a LT1 that the owner prior to my friend rebuilt (never heard him say forged pistons though, could be) with a set of heads he ported himself and cc306 like you mentioned. the car ran those times with only a mild street tune. full dyno tune would definately bring up the performance.

it's a great running motor though, how much does he want btw?

with a good tune you might increase another 25-35 hp with the cam and CR increase. Where is the cam from?

I don't see the point running a cam that big on a stock cube motor with a stock PCM. My cam is around 10 degrees smaller and it still peaks around 6500 and pulls to 7k without falling off.
