Default 2001 4l80e to 2006 lq4 - crank spacer?

I don't quite know what to do at this point. I bought a used lq4 from an 06 silverado to put into my 68 camaro. I've replaced the cam and heads. I also bought a 4l80e (1hpp) from a 2001 GMC van with a 5.7l engine. everything seems to be fine except when I bolt the engine and trans together the flex plate is about a half inch away from the bolt holes on the converter.
I thought that I might need the crank spacer and longer bolts, but when I pulled off the flex plate it looks like this:

Maybe I'm retarded but isn't that a crank spacer? It seems like its either that or part of the flex plate...
How do I make the trans fit??

I keep investigating this and it seems a 2001 4l80e should bolt right up and that the 06 motors already have the spacer. Is it safe to just move the converter forward a half inch on the spline?

You heard wrong

Only 99-00 iron headed 6.0's have the longer cranks. If you have alum heads on your 6.0 regardless of year, it requires the spacer with a 4L80E or older auto trans. Your 01 has the spacer as you can see, do not loose the longer crank bolts, they are required to make the spacer fit

I'm a douche. The tranny bolts weren't torqued. It bolts up fine.

I spent hours researching this a while back - I am putting an older 4L60 behing an LQ9.

The 6.0s are different - the Lq4s were in different vehicles and had different transmissions than the LQ9s so there are flat flexplates and curved flexplates. My LQ9 happens to have a curved flexplate so I need the spacer.

Some of these LQ4s had a stock spacer from the factory. I was there the day my LQ9 was pulled and no spacer.

Had the same flexplate behind my 2005 LQ-4 with a 4L80E. I am using it for the 5.3 I am rebuilding an putting a TH-350 behind it for my Tool supplier. We are putting it all in his 70' Nova. Nice to have without the added expence. Seeing as I am using a T-56 behind the LQ-4 in my S-10.

So, my question, how does the spacer come off of an '06 lq4? I'm tempted to tap/pry it but I don't want to damage the actual crank. First time, pardon if it's been covered. I am putting on a 99 4x4 truck with a 4l65 so this is why we are going to to a 60e and not using the 80. Also the 2wd 80e has no reverse and is slipping forward. At this point the lq4 6.0 on a 60e is what fits the budget.

Tthe spacer should have two threaded holes on opposite sides of the central opening that you can run bolts into. Alternate sides every turn or two and the spacer will be pulled off.
