Default I purchased a Dr. ColorChip kit

I just purchased the Dr. ColorChip kit for my car. I'll do my best to take some before and after pics so we can see how well it works at covering up paint chips!

It's on there!

For anyone that isn't on GMLS4.com, below is a copy of my results post ---

So I used Dr. Colorchip and in the words of Borat, GREAT SUCCESS!

it fills most chips pretty well on the car. It is pretty simple process; dab some paint on the chip with a small brush, use your thumb to smooth out the dab, and let it dry for a couple of minutes. Once a few minutes have past, put the sealing solution on a light cloth, such as a old T-shirt, and lightly rub the excess paint off. You have to be sure to rub lightly as it can pull the paint out of the chip. I was nervous about the excess paint not coming off with the sealing solution but it actually works really well; you do not have to rub hard to remove it.

Like any other touch up paint, it doesn't hold as well on big chips that are on plastic (i.e. front bumper) as it is easy to pull the paint out of the chip when using the sealing solution. However, it does a darn good job at covering up the road rash on the front bumper. It did cover a lot of the chips on my front bumper, just not all. For the big chips on the plastic, I think it will just use the paint it came with and just dab a little of it on the chips to cover it up, like I would do with normal touch up paint.

I have a before and after pic of the road rash on the front of my hood so show how well it works. I will post it up tomorrow.

All in all, I think it was worth it and it made my speckled front end look new again!!

i think i read in the instructions that it can be used for scratches as they may hold the touch up paint as well. Keep in mind that the chips are still on the hood but they are A LOT less noticeable. This kit puts paint into the chips and doesn't the bubbled up paint like normal touch up paint; however, if you get pretty close, you can see the chips that are filled in.

I purchased a kit for my Red Jewel Tintcoat and am somewhat pleased with the results. I made the mistake of rubbing too hard and it was lifting the paint out of the chip, but now I have a better feel for it. Yes, the excess comes off like its supposed to which I was worried about at first.

I have the same problem areas as you; most blemishes are on the leading edge of the hood from gravel and small rocks.

So is this actually a paint, or more of a crayon/ waxy type product. Can it be put on after a wax job? I wonder how well it will hold up.
