Newbie Intro/Swap Questions on LS/LT or LQ Engine into a 2008 Jeep Wrangler JK
My name is Greg and I am from Oklahoma and I am looking for any help or advise on doing an engine swap in my 2008 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited. I have heard all kinds of things on LS engines and LT engines and LQ engines but I really don't know the difference between them other than you can swap out much of the LS stuff onto an LT engine. I am thinking about a 6.0 as opposed to a 5.3 but not sure yet. Any ideas on direction to go and issues I will face?? Thanks in advance for any replies.

That is a negative. LT and LS are like V-8's and 4 cylinders. They don't mix at all. Now the LQ and the LS will on some things.

You can find 5.3 blocks for cheap, and then build one up to your liking. I agree with not going with the LT1. I used to have one, and they are great engines, just really outdated. I'd stick with the LS
