Chevrolet Performance LSX Challenge Series and LSX Shootout - What is the local Atlanta LSX racing like?

Are there a lot of LSX racers that race regularly in that area?

Would be nice if you local guys can help get the word out about the "free" racing the can get into when LSX Challenge comes to town.

I have have a question unrelated to this thread. I have been asked about a Host Hotel for this event. The site has it as TBA. I heard there are a few hotels near the track but the question is - will there be a host hotel?

I know we're staying at the Comfort Suites, I think its a 1/2 mile from the track


From what I understand, the hotel that is listed on the tracks website as being the go-to hotel is completely booked on friday nite by a school. When I called there first, they said NO rooms on friday and a couple on saturday.

i was kinda thinking the same thing redgar. didnt seem like there was many local florida cars at bradenton, and the ones that were there are cars i have seen travel to the past shootout events. i know we will be draging lots of ohio cars when it comes to indy and trying for as many as possible to bg. see ya in the a t l.

NMCA guys should make a box of flyers and send them to Ron @ Vengeance Racing, he's very tied into the local scene.

noticed that too. lot of familiar faces from years past. and with indy we will be bringing quite a few from pittsburgh too as it is closest for us.

Blue, I was expecting more cars as well. Not that I'm complaining about a 5 round race for the bragging rights!

Unfortunately my cars not ready and my move to Atlanta is delayed until late June. I hoping to make this event.

As for poor turnouts by local racers, I know a lot of "local" LSX guys who would love to enter these types of events. ...but their cars won't pass a "real" tech inspection at the speeds that they run. We all know thats a problem.

Tell them to bring their cars anyway.
If they get kicked out who cares, they are getting in for Free anyway.
(They never really kick you out, they just won't let you race anymore, but you can still watch)

Besides, they can slow it down and run an Index.
You don't always have to go All Out.
e.g. If the guy has a Nitrous car, tell him to race, just don't spray it, run NA.

You know, stuff like that.
