Default Advanced Induction 241's gain 41RWHP/32RWTQ (Stock Valves!)

Well, it looks as though all those internet experts are wrong again. 241's can make power.

This car isn't a world beater as far as #'s are concerned due to the baby camshaft and it's running through a GTO drivetrain, but this A/B comparison shows the potential of a decent combo and A.I.'s port work.

Details:
-2004 GTO M6
-Stock Intake
-Stock TB ported by Spartan
-Stock MAF
-Svede Ram air intake
-Pacesetter Headers/Off road mids
-Stock 2.5 piping with Magnaflow mufflers
-Comp 222/230 .560/.540 114 camshaft
-PAC 1218 springs

Previous #'s with this setup were - 384/368. Additions include:
-Advanced Induction CNC'd 241 castings
-Stock valves
-57cc chambers (Had miles of PTV room)

Final #'s - 425/400

The tach lead wasn't working for some reason and we had a hard time getting it to display RPM so sorry for the mph graph.

40+rwhp gains is on par with any aftermarket casting I've ever installed, and higher than most CNC'd GM castings I've installed. And this is just a 241. A.I.'s 243 program is even better. The best part, their pricing is EXTREMELY affordable.

FYI. I do not sell or distribute Advanced Induction Cylinder heads. Contact A.I. for more info. I believe they offer the absolute best quality at the most reasonable price.

Cheers....

I think those are some good gains. It seem like it all in who does the work to the heads.

Thanks Timothy. Definitely so. FWIW, I think the gains would be even more significant with a better/more aggressive camshaft. This cam is a lazy blower cam, but it was purchased because the customer wanted a TQ'y daily driver on a budget and the cam was bought used for a good price.

We're currently looking into a larger camshaft and better intake to go towards the 450-460rwhp range with these heads.

It's not quite 12:1. But, your point?

FWIW the car took 28 degrees of timing on the street w/ 93 octane no problem.

His point was nearly half the gained power was more likely due to the compression increase, rather than the SUPER DUPER ports.

Nice numbers! how much work did you have to do to fit the intake on?
57cc on a 241 chamber is a lot of milling

I kind of doubt half (20.5hp) was found in compression. I'm sure there was a touch of gain there and it should not be neglected, but definately not half..

No.

Intake fit just fine. No sealing issues.

Contact A.I. directly for pricing information. I can tell you that most of their machining packages are cheaper than you'd buy a set of Patriots for, but I'll let Phil iron out pricing with you on his own.

There's more than one way to skin a cat. Most of the internet crowd is only accustomed to one way of building compression or making power thanks to the great marketing teams of some parts houses/shops. The fact is, there's a ton of different ways.

So what do you think they would of gained without the added 2 points (or very close to) of compression.MY POINT!

every cc is worth around .15 compression bump roughly...241 is what 66.7cc to 57cc is 1.5 CR jump...

So if i had to ballpark the bump in CR was around 10-15hp...

none the less everyone should mill when throwing heads on, and if there is no room flycut...well my thinking anyways

awesome results everything i see on AI is top notch...

Damian I know you know your **** but how can you say that much increase in compression didn't effect the added output?

i was thinking 10 hp or so due to the bump in CR,according to my ricer math.but that shouldn't take anything away from the results, the thing to remember is this is with the STOCK valves..
good results!

I never did say that sir. But the added compression is not 50-60% of the gains like some people are trying to suggest. A full point in compression increase will equate to roughly 5-7% power increase.

These cylinder heads will shine much better once we get rid of the air restriction (LS6 intake) and go with a bigger camshaft that holds the valves open a little longer. I'd expect to see another 30rwhp out of this setup with a better cam and FAST setup. 450-460 is nothing to sneeze at through a GTO IRS drivetrain and heavy *** GTO wheels.

At the end of the day, I just build these engines. I don't sell the products.

Your results are about what we saw back in 04 with stock (good) ported heads and smaller Cams -we ran TR224's. The compression helps down low and the torque curve.

Problem nowadays is people instantly look at the peak hp #'s and not what actually makes the car move.So everyone put's in bigger cams.
