Road Racing - Testing our "budget" Rolex GT spec C6 Vette this weekend

Testing our new build of a prep 2 Rolex C6 this weekend at PBIR.
Total tube frame build, only thing Corvette is the body and LS6 engine.

Bemco Chassis
Schwanke LS6
Nascar type G Force T101 A tranny
9" Nascar rear end
Penske shocks
Brembo brakes
CCW wheels
2540# without driver

After creating it i thought of some more witty ones but w/e...

Oh and very nice C6 racecar btw, one day I hope to have the budget to run a road race car like that, but that'll have to wait until after college....

probably gonna test/race at Daytona with SCCA on May 7-8 and if all goes well race with V8 StockCar on the undercard with Grand Am Rolex at VIR
may 14-15.

Taking the Vette and the LS1 powered stock car to Daytona this weekend for the SCCA races.

Have the wrong gear (3.40) for the Vette which will limit top speed through the tri oval, but will be a good test none the less. Really need a 3.0 gear with a 6800 rpm rev limit. Don't have time to secure another 9" chunk like we need.

The stock car should run well, was very quick at Road Atlanta this past weekend at the Mitty (1.31) with first time RA driver.

This car is getting re-bodied as a 2011 Camaro right after Daytona. Will later get a much more powerful LS motor. Any suggestions?

Daytona SCCA May 7-8, Our LS1 Stock Car won overall in the GT group, the Vette had a successful test, but brought her in after 5 laps with some fuel pick up issues. She handled and drove well.

Installed an "SCCA Only" drop on hood constucted from a HOWE Camaro hood we cut down. Cost about $ 450 including louvers, without paint. Next race is Daytona with CFR SCCA & V8StockCar Aug 6 & 7. We plan to debut our "new"
tube frame Camaro as well. Actually our GTA type stock car re-bodied as a Camaro.

Woody Wood at BEMCO fabrication (Deland, Fl) built the entire car.

Woody built a square tube chassis and used the HOWE Racing road course type geometry.

The body is stock gutted Corvette except the roof which is the World Challenge composite type. The body turned out to be only about 40# heavier, but about 15 K cheaper. Replacement parts are cheap from ebay.
