Default LS6 Cam Vs. the LS3 Cam

I'm curious which cam would be a better cam regardless of the added expense of Cam Gear, Position Sensor, and Timing cover. Is the LS3 much of an increase over the LS6?

I'm looking to build a 5.3 LM7 with one of the 2 stock Vette cams. I've found a good deal on the supporting parts for the LS3.

The one that involes the least changes, 02-04 LS6. Three bolt cam will simply slide in.

The book how to build high performance chevy ls1/ls6 v8's by Will handzel is a good read. It talks about the
• history architecture & design
• head, cam, & intake power combos
• parts interchangeability
And also covers 4.8, 5.3 & 6.0's. It was a good read and in my opinion money well spent.
Chris Werner's How to rebuild GM Ls series engines is also a really good book it has over 600 step by step color photos.
