Default car won't go any faster!!

I just swapped the cam and the stall in my car.

old cam
GT2-3
376 rwhp 390 rwtg (unlocked)
3000 2.1 str

new cam
old G5 cam
390rwhp 416rwtq (unlocked)
3800 2.5 str (it's artcarr stall. Yes I know an off-brand, but it came with the tranny and was free to swap.)

I picked up power but no time, just 3 mph.

I have 3.23 LCA, TQ arm, TA cover, SFC and et's streets. What else do i need? Hals, pan hard bar, relocation brackets? Or should i just go grab a yank or a vig?

I am really pissed and not happy.

What's your time slips look like. 60' 1/8 1/4 ? Are you 60' worse? If so maybe you are putting more power, and spinning more? Track conditions? Better; worse?

60' did not change at all. No wheel hop. Did not spin.

Weird. DA being the same, with no spin. Same 60's. You should have seen at least some gains in 60' and 1/4 times. I can't believe the 3.23's are helping. Wouldn't 4.10's or at least 3.73's be more help with your set-up? I know 14 hp doesn't seem like much, but at least something. Maybe one of the "pro's" can help.

If you look at your dyno sheets you'll probably find that the increase is mostly in the upper rpm range so the 3.23s aren't allowing the motor to get happy quick enough.
But if you're going to spray then the gas should help it get happy faster.

i dont believe this to be true, looking at the bigger convertor. a 3800 rpm is on the small side for a big cam but should still be knocking out some nice times. if your mph went up then traction is an issue. post both your time slips up and we can compare. bigger gearing is not an issue, 3.23 are just fine assuming you are on a small 26" tire. autos need stall rpm, not gearing with a small tire.

also there is nothing off brand about an art carr product. they make top notch stuff, just not popular in this arena.

I don't have the power that you got, but I do have 4.11's. It looks to me like your 60' time is suffering more than anything else. I was cutting 1.6 sixty foot times on my 94Z with 3.73 gears & 323 RWHP & a 2800 Art carr stall. Your either spinning off the line bad or you need some lower gears to get into the power band quicker. I would expect 1.60ish short times with that setup with a simple gear change.(3.73 or 4.11) JMO, Fred

Dam you need some tuning or something, man I dynoed a low 327 and i pull 1.70s in a full weight TA, with nittos. Your car should pull easy 1.6s with a 3800,2.5 stater, something is hurting you,

Bain if you want but you wont go anyfaster. I got to drive joes car he ran a fastes of 7.29 at 94.2mph. Chris M ran his car and got a 7.27 9.46mph. I ran the car got a 7.25 95mph. I dont think it is the driver but it could be. The car is fully dyno and street tuned with a wideban 02 by Chris M.

TCI 3800 all the way ,check out (Bain) and his times man his car is superfast and has excellent mph for a bolton car.I think he ran 11.50s at 115mph.
