Anybody know what a flowmaster sounds like on an LS1??
There always seems to be people getting rid of their Flowmasters so getting a good deal on one is probable.
I've heard a Flowmaster on an LT1 and it sounds really deep and mean.
Can somebody tell me what a Flowmaster sounds like on an M6 LS1??
Thanks in advance.

I've got it on an 2002 z28,with hooker longtubes, and offroad pipe, with the flowmaster catback. It can be loud, but I like it. I used to have the borla, only reason i got rid of it was so i didn;t sound just like everyone else. I mph'ed 110 at the track with the borla, and mph'ed 110 with the flowmaster.

I used to have Flowmaster, now I have Corsa. The only reason I had it was because it came with the car. Stay away from this catback, it is the crappiest one for the LS1. It sounds alright, but it doesn't flow for ****. And like Unit said: <<<<<< is what Flowmaster is for an LS1.

as stated b4.. sounds ok... flows for crap...
but the prob is not the company it is the particular muffler that comes with the flowmaster cat back...
the 80 series... if you get the catback and replace the muffler with the 40 series then it will flow as well as anyother catback...
but if saving money is something you want...
do a flowtech cutout and be done with it...
no catback will out flow it and you cant beat 30 bucks...

But i personally liked the sound, and got many compliments, just the flow sucked.
the corsa is a better catback, but it should be for almost 3 times the price

If you want to do it inexpensivly and makit sound just like a Loud mouth. Cut out the muffler, put in a reverse y to keep the dual pipes and put an 18" dynomax bullit in the I pipe. Sounds great and I got good gain.

Check out www.ls1sounds.com. Chad has put together a great resource
for people shopping for ls1 exhaust systems.

I agree with what's said above... the flowmaster sounds pretty good on our cars, but that 80 series flows pretty poorly. I have a flowmaster 80 series muffler on my car currently, which I run with a cutout. This whole system is being scrapped for a Texas Speed rumbler this weekend though when I put on my headers.

If money isn't the big deal, than I'd recommend GMMG. I listened to alot of systems before I bought mine, and just finally decided to go with the GMMG for sound wise. I was actually surprised once the system was installed because I was actually feeling some tire shake in the higher rpm's of 1st and 2nd gear. Granted this is my opinion, but I really prefer the sound of the GMMG especially with LT's.
