Just curious... Did you guys order the hood recommended hood struts as well? I didn't see any mention of that in any of your posts with estimates.

We do carry the struts here as well...but because we do not make these in house...instead purchasing them through a supplier...they are reg. price. These are $40.00 for the pair.

If vfn was like willy wonkas factory... I wonder if you would turn into a dragster if you tried to eat a hood. . . Just ordered my wsq..... can't.... wait...... ahhhhhh!

I ordered my WSQ yesterday. I talked to Denise (i think) Wednesday but didnt get to place my order till Thursday. I spoke with a guy but dont recall his name. He was nice though. I was wondering how many of the WSQ hoods you sold on this group purchase. When will they be available for internet sale? I was told by the gentleman who took my order that for now, this was an LS1Tech sale only and that the hood would be released sometime in the future. Are the "feeler group" for this hood? Is there a chance that it will not go into production? I only ask because there are so many common accessories for these cars that it would be nice to be one of the few who actually have a unique part. I would estimate that we've sold about 8-9 at this point with this offer. You guys did get first dibs on this hood :D But we do expect to release it to the public shortly. Although it would have been cool to have it available as a limited time release...we just wouldn't be able to justify this awesome looking mold sitting around collecting dust

Unfortunately I can no longer honor the GP pricing...BUT Tech members do get a good discount on parts to begin with. :D Puts the price of the WSQ bolt on at $640.00....instead of retail of $695.00.

We are building these to order...currently working with a 4-5 week production time.

Some of you guys on the GP will be receiving your WSQ's either by the end of this week...or sometime next. :D
There will be another batch sent out within the next week or so.

Got my WSQ hood in last night got it bolted on today. It is a little thick in all the places I was told it would be and I will need to slot my mounts just a little to bring the hood forward, so all in all its awesome. It looks so mean from the front view, now I can barely wait to hit the car with some new paint. Also if anyone wants to keep the release latch looking stock, we just v notched the handle, bent it down straight, and tack welded the notch. It clears everything and still retains factory look and feel.

Got my hood on Wednesday, pulled it out of the box and man does it look awesome!
I just wanted to say thank you to everyone at VFN for their part in producing this hood.
It truely is better than it looks in the pictures. The quality of the hood is amazing, it's not too heavy, and the attn to detail is awesome. Not to mention the customer service being very good as well. I was contacted immediately before the hood was shipped to determine whether the vents should be open or closed, and to also be walked thru step by step on how to install and adjust the hood. Also to be let know I was the first person to be recieving the hood. :D:D:D I recieved it on WED. MORNING... and am glad to say I was very happy with my purchase thru VFN. Thank You All.

As for the fitment, I will not know first hand b/c my car is currently getting a cage installed and therefore I don't have the car at my disosal. :(
I will post pics of before and after the paint process tho. ;)

Mounted my wsq yesterday. Pictures really don't do it justice. Fitment was superb... may have some issues with the height above the passenger headlamp(so close to perfection. ). But ill leave it to the paint guy before I make a final decision. Mounting without drilling holes in the hood requires modifying the hinges and hood latch. Overall it was super easy to put on. Another thing that pictures haven't shown well yet is just how tall the cowl is. Its easily more than an inch taller than my stock ws6 was.

Also many people were wondering if mti or slp lids would rub.... mine does but just barely, I have an mti.

i called but got no answer..??? weird

If you go with the standard dzus fasteners...these come 10 to a package...and include the backing plates and pop up spring. Price on this is $42.00.

We also offer the Rails if you wished to go this route...Side rails only run $180.00...or $245.00 for the sides and front rails. Hardware for the sides runs $22.00 additional...and for the front and sides an additional $34.00.

its clearance is negligible. if it rubs now, it will likely rub on the wsq... were talking maybe a millimeter or two maybe... I still hit my lid a little

I can tell you that I have the WS6 lower box and it raises up my setup about 1.5" higher than a stock LS1 box. that does make a big difference. I have a formy hood on mine while waiting on my wsq and i had to gut all the braces/supports from underneath just to get it to close and it still rubbed a bit...

ah gotcha. still rubs huh. When I called VFN they said you might have to cut the opening farther back to keep it from rubbing. So where does yours rub at?

actually, mine doesnt rub, there was about 1/4 of an inch.. it did rub on my oem ws6 hood though right on top of the ridge of the lid at its highest point and out about 2inches on either side... it doesnt now though but my hood needs to come down a bit more I believe.

yeah i should be able to put a WS6 hood on my car for about $550 ....so i would say thats a good deal too......i got a used oem hood earlier and paid $850 shipped to me but it came in damaged all to hell so i didnt except it....and got a refund so i saved a few bucks on this buy...so with the rest i'll get it prepped and painted....so all in all a great deal!!! and my body man will do it for about $200 or less.....so i'll really make out good on this!

My hood came in today. We got it on and I'll to say the fitment of the hood is second to non well besides the factory hood maybe. Which didn't line up to well to begin with. We got it bolted on and for not being adjusted at all it was damn near perfect. The back corners are alittle high and the front driver side aswell which will be fixed tommarow we just ran out of daylight. Thanks again Jeanie and everyone at VFN for the superior work and customer service. Here are some pictures with a crappy cell phone the first time we shut the hood.

They told me 4 weeks on my WSQ hood and I got it a few days shy of 4 weeks.

Ordered my "Sunoco Wide" hood in the last group purchase and I finally got some time to finish the install. It fit awesome and I would recommend it to anyone. I'm going to get it painted after it comes back from TRZ.

Thx! Well I can't personnally attest to the hands on part of the install. Ormondo and Steve of Vfn pretty much guided me from finish till end. On every step of what they were gonna do, and what they had to do. And it seemed like a pretty straight foward install. They made it look easy.lol All I can say is every car is gonna be different and mine had some minor flaws of it's own. Since the pros installed it they made the tweaks that were unique to my ride and got it done. For the most part just follow the instructions that they give and or the youtube video they mentioned and you'll be good. I can't be more then happier speechless quite frankly.:D

Got my hood in Friday and it looks great. The shipping company did a hell of a job trying to destroy it because the box looked like it had been run over by the truck... twice. Finished opening it up(because the box was partially torn open across the entire bottom) to find the hood in good shape which was a very pleasant surprise. The box looked so bad I considered sending it back without opening it at all. I figured there was no way the hood wasn't cracked.

We can upon request...otherwise, we do forward the freight carrier your number so that they can contact you once it arrives at the destination terminal. At that point, they will call to schedule a delivery appointment and give you exact costs on freight.

Picked up our Sunoco hood at the terminal today. Fit is great for an aftermarket hood; much better than other brands I have used in the past! And it looks great on the car, really works well with the body lines!

We got the lower pressure struts as well and I would highly recommend them. there is a drastic difference in pressure from the originals. They are just right for the lighter hood.

Shipping was a bit more than expected. 35% more than expected to be exact.

Bottom line - Great looking and high quality hood! I will absolutely look to VFN for future fiberglass needs. Shame that shipping ended up being almost 40% of the hood's cost.

Very sorry about that. Unfortunately with gas costs being the way they are...it's taking a hit on the transit companies as well...they are adding a 30% fuel surcharge on top of the base price of freight to help offset these costs.
With this being said, we are selective about the carriers we use...there are many cheaper companies out there that can deliver the product, but are well known for damage issues and not paying out claims. To avoid these headaches...we tend to stick with the tried and true who generally move our freight without issues.
I am looking into an alternative to these companies however, it doesn't drop the freight costs by much - I'd say an average of $30-35.00 - but every bit helps these days...

Just got the call from the shipper. Should be delivered today or tomorrow. Ordered July12th, so exactly 4 weeks. Shipping was $167 from VFN to NE Indiana. More than I expected, but it is what it is, I suppose.

Will double check that for you. I do believe when the order was placed, we estimated right around $150.00 for freight...which I know this is a bit higher then that..but might be a case where that fuel surcharge comes in. Will know something in a little bit ~

i think just being that i live in illinois i would pay sales tax along with shipping. even so, sales tax alone would be much less than shipping and driving there combined.. probably less than half.

Would recommend picking it up - esp. if you live in Illinois. I don't have but one carrier that ships within the state and it is an expensive lane to ship to...talking about $170 to a business or terminal pickup or $260 to a home location...this would be regardless if you're all the way downstate or an hour or so away. ~

well, i was ready to pull the trigger when i moved back into school and i turned my tv on only to realize that it looked like this guy-:bomb: looks like i'll have to sit this one out..

Rene's Rage - If shipped, there would be a $25.00 crating charge added to the price of the hood, bringing the total here, prior to freight to $470.00.
Hoods are too large dimensionally for shipping with UPS, instead requiring truck freight shipping instead. Generally we set truck freight up where our customers pay these costs upon arrival of your item.

We do recommend delivery into a business address or to do a terminal pickup, which we can help locate for you...doing one of these 2 options will save you about $70.00 that this particular carriers adds onto the base price of freight.

Average freight to a business or terminal will cost between $110-120.00 and to a home location between $180-190.00.
