Probably no difference as-delivered on HP
because all any of them do is mess spark
around and there's only so far you can go
before starting to make stock cars ping.
So they only push 4-6 degrees of timing.
The Predator will let you go further (up to
another three degrees advance) on spark and
also adjust power enrichment some.
You can use the real time display to actually
see whether you need tuning to be fiddled.
That's something HPP3 & Superchips don't give.
Resale value is negligible due to VIN locking,
unlike HPP3 which somebody else can use next.
To anybody else your Predator is just a code
scanner & limited monitoring tool.
The Predator can be software-updated for custom
tunes. This is a service that is anywhere from free
to forget-you depending on vendor. Delays the
point of outgrowing it, some. Also supposed to be
getting feature updates / additions, but don't hold
your breath on that; it's been a few months off for
about a year now.
I think there's a good chance that the new tuning
tool options may eclipse the Predator's niche (esp.
for people who have laptops already); HPTuners
supposedly "any day now" at $499 with full scanning
and programming, vs. a $419 Predator? Dunno about
EFILive's purported product (date/price). But those
are two do-all options that might be available before
you finally lose fiscal restraint.
