Put your VIN in here. Look up the G option code.

If it was 6 speed stock, it should be 3.42s. Look on your RPO sticker on the door or in the glovebox. GU2 = 2.73, GU5 = 3.23, GU6 = 3.42

Thanks for the help. I know it has a 10 bolt but I also need to know what size carrier? Is there a way to find out without tearing it a part? Thanks

Go to:
-The LS1Tech homepage which shows all the sections.
-Go to the Gears and Axles section.
-Go to first thread, the sticky titled "Your questions are answered in here! Look here first!"
-Go to the first link in it titled "Rear end faq!"
-Read all items.

That was very informative but still did not answer my question. I need to know what size ring gear ( as far as 8.5 in or 7.5) to order from Jegs is there a way of finding this with out tearing the rear end apart? thanks for the help.

Call the GM parts counter? I think it's considered a 7 5/8".

The rears in these cars has a 7-1/2 inch ring gear.

Any seller or website (like Jegs or Summit) would've told you what size the gears are.

Are you planning on doing a ring & pinion install? If so, you have a lot to learn if you didn't even know the rear size. This installation is pretty involved and certainly not for the inexperienced.
