Default Question for those that went full race or close to it

To those who went full race, or pretty much full race, about how much $ were you able to get out of parting out the car? All the stuff you wouldn't need like A/C stuff, heater core, air bags, interior pieces, etc... Just for curiousity and some number sake. Thanks.

Sell the old parts off my car???? Most of my old stuff went in the dumpster. Chasing down $20 for a set of stock shocks is not my idea of time well spent. I sold my 10 bolt rearend to a guy in Texas for $350. I sold my T56 with a brand new clutch, and Hurst Shifter for $1400. I tossed out my EGR/AIR crap, shocks, gave away my Eibach springs (guy screwed me and never paid me for shipping!)

The big stuff sells pretty easy. The small stuff.....dump it, unless your time isn't worth anything.

yeah all the little stuff is too piddly to be messing with. i think i have some stuff from my '93Z laying around too, and that was from '99-'00. Just wonder how much big stuff is there to remove and get back out of the car.

I thought I could recoup some money by selling the parts on ebay. I ran about 25 auctions and started them all at $1.00 It was a huge mistake, most things only sold for a few bucks and it took an assload of time to get it all shipped.. We're doing another car right now and all the parts go straight to the dumpster.. It's much easier.

The dumpster gets my vote. I sold off the big parts, and then just posted locally that I was gutting the car and what parts I had available. If people wanted them come get them, but I wasn't willing to spend the time shipping all the stuff.

What would you consider full race? Like tube chassis/Alumn interior or gutting your car for weight savings and running stock suspension setup?

i was talking about just weight savings stuff. Like I had mentioned, just the heater core, a/c stuff, interior(seats), carpet, air bags, hood, stock wheels, and other big things. I realize the smaller things like the EGR/AIR system and bumper supports may not be worth the hassle for shipping. Thanks again everyone.

All my stock and removed items are either setting in the garage or shed out back. Not much $$ in selling stock A.I.R., EGR, cat-backs, 10-bolt with snapped axels, etc. I even have the stock shocks, front springs, wheels,......

Only thing I sold was my stock rear and my 6 speed trans/bellhousing/clutch. I have all the a/c stuff, TCS, cruise, foglights, radiator fans, stock airbox, exhaust, etc, etc and thought about selling it. Maybe I could get 4-500.00 for everything. But then when you go to sell the car its probably worth more to keep it around so the new owner can put the car back to stock if they wish. Or you never know, you may be wanting to put the car back close to stock one day and then you will have to pay twice as much as you sold the stuff for to get it back

Thats if you have the room to store it of course

I've still got my original air filter - it's still practically new since I went K&N within a couple of days.
I guess I'm a pack rat.
