other car not starting?

Default other car not starting?

hey guys i have a question..my dads car is not starting(91 oldsmobile) basically what happened was he drove it to work, then after work he went to start it and it did not start, the battery is dead..so i jump it and we get it home charge the battery and it still didnt start, i think this is the altenrator but before i replace that is their anything else it could be? any input would be GREATLY appreciated because its been like this for a week, weve been so busy. thanks!

and btw this friday the Z comes back out after a chicago winter =)

Check the cables... maybe they're corroded and making a bad connection. Check the grounds as well. Maybe the voltage regulator?

Sounds like a dead battery to me...... If it was the altenator then the car would slowly lose power while driving. Such as radio going dim and not working, headlights/tail lights going dim, etc...

yeah i was thinkin only other thing would be cables....and the batt is actually fine cause we charged it up, then i took it over to a shop and they tested it and it was good
