does anyone know if a 95 chevy suburban 350 small block will mate to an 86 corvette transmission? i found the block for $100 and was planning on rebuilding the bottom end to handle a blower

All Chevy v-8's had the same tranny to engine bolt pattern.

another question, whats a center bolt head motor?

i only need the block anyways, my plan was to build the bottom end up then take the heads off the corvette, port and polish them and put them on the built block.

Center bolt heads have the valve cover held on by bolts that go down thru the center of the valve cover. I think they started doing this somewhere around 86. I am not what year heads will interchange with what year blocks. I would imagine that they are all interchangeable except for the 400 first gens and the LT1's.

AS long as you have the right intake itll be ok. No lt1 heads on gen 1s. Reverse cooling. Theres center bolt, vortec, outter bolt and lt1s.
