Got to the track for the first time this year. Now on E85 and we did all WOT throttle tuning in 5 passes. Special thanks to my tuner that definatley knows whats going on. Anyway, I am down about 6-7 psi from what was expected...so I have belt slipping issues more than likely, but will check for leaks etc. These passes were on 9 psi. The track prep was a little slick, LOL. I am in the left lane...10.56 at 130.78. I was racing a pretty mean Supra in the other lane who was having a hard time on the track too.

I am excited to get the suspension lined out and the boost up to par to run some good numbers.

Maybe I could get 10 second club added to username? :usa:

I am curious what kind of numbers you got on regular pump gas compared to switching to E85.

Were they the same mods before switching, and I am guessing you get better than 91 at the pump, if so what was the octane rating?

I am asking, because i want to know if it is worth the switch. I am building the drag car to take E85, but simple enough to keep it on pump gas.

by the way, congrats on the new numbers.

You can't "just switch to E85". You have to add 30% more fuel at WOT and anywhere from 15-30% anywhere below WOT.

It is worth the switch only if you are close your detonation or knock threshold on pump gas. You guys have large displacement engines. You don't have to run as high of boost pressures of the smaller displacement engines.

Yes E85 can work good on lower HP numbers in the 700whp and lower range with large displacement. Things like improved intake charge temps. More timing at the same boost pressures. It cleans out a lot of shit in the engine...

But basically, For E85 to start showing it's true colors for you large displacement guys, you probably have to be up around the 1000whp mark. Then you will start to see how knock resistant E85 is, and the power you can actually achieve while using the fuel. I would not be surprised to see the 1400whp range easily on E85 on say a 6.0 liter build, and I'm sure it has already been done numerous times.

when i asked, I meant mod wise, were the mods the same before and after the switch.

I know you need to get retuned. I am building mine specifically to take E85. But before i redo the whole fuel pump and lines, was just wondering if it was a significant gain by switching to e85.

i am hoping for 600 rwhp, out of a 409 6 liter block with LS7 heads, built to the max, and on E85.

I was wondering if its achievable. will find out in a month or 2 i guess, lol.
