Default manual valve body in 4l80e

If u have a full manual valve body on a 4l80e do u have to hook the wiring harness up to it?

That depends on whose valve body your using.

The transgo-3 kit (that doesn't seem to work very well) requires a hot wire and a ground wire for the lockup converter. I believe that would be the absolute minimum as far as wiring goes, other setups use more electrical controls, requiring more wires.

You can run with a non locking converter with no electronics. Also you will not have any pressure control. Most run at max pressure all the time. There are other options also for pressure control.
