Default Question bout EFI live

I cannot get my laptop to connect to car. When I hit the connect button, it says it doesn't see the cable. I have Windows 7. I don't see a driver listed for Windows 7. Am I not seeing something or is it just not supported?

EFILive works fine with Windows 7. What version are you running? Were you able to connect before or is this the first time? Make sure the Ignition is ON and the cables are properly secured before attempting to connect.

Here are the most recent software and driver updates.

First time trying to connect with a new computer. Friend's computer works just fine but he has also been using the software. I wanted to do some data logging on my laptop. Which version of efilive should I download?

Read these:

http://forum.efilive.com/showthread....-V7.5-Software

http://forum.efilive.com/showthread....-V8.1-Software

Download these:

EFILive V7.5.6 Build 157

EFILive V8.2.1 Build 151

The downloads are found here:

When you are done, connect the V2 to your laptop. Open either EFILive Hapi or EFILive Scan and Tune (I don't remember which one. It will be in your "Start" then "Programs" menu). Check to see if there is a firmware update. If so, update it. It's pretty straight forward.

If you do all of these things successfully and you still can't connect, then I would head over to their forum and look around. There are some helpful people there.

Assuming you have V2, then dowload the most recent versions or as mentioned above download them directly from the program. But that's probably not the problem. Make sure the key and license information is loadrd in both the Scan and Tune software.

OK guys. I got it. Thanks for the help. Seems like the exact same thing I've done about five times, but it's working. I think I had the wrong version of efi live.

FYI- Sometimes you have to disconnect the Tune Tool vs the Scan Tool to make one another work. There is probably a fix to this issue but I don't know it.
