Default Need some help choosing intakes

Hey guys, i got a question, i have an LS1 intake, but i was also looking into the edelbrock LS intakes, they look like some of the are for a carbed setup(which i do not want), but some of them look like you can mount a 4bbl TB on top of the intake. what are these styles of intakes used for? I would like the old SBC look, but with modern fuel injection. I have the LQ4 engine, and my car is gonna be my DD, and might make 400hp, dunno if that makes any difference, but id thought id put it in there!
Thanks guys!

if you want best of the best go with a FAST.

If you want a decent improvement over the ls1 intake go ls6

If you want a new hood with a 4" cowl go with the edelbrock and there elbow.

Well its not that i want an edelbrock specifically, i just saw that they made something like that.

So the edelbrock intakes arent that good, or are they only for a specific setup? (i.e.- drag only car) I like the idea of a fast intake, but i dont have 700- 1k for an intake setup.

The edelbrock intakes are better suited for drag racing (upper rpm power).

Since a FAST intake is out of your price range , I'd look at a LS6 intake, or a BBK SSI aluminum intake.

ls6 can be ported(ls2portworks) and is a direct swap with the ls1 and can run an 80mm tb no modification or an 85 with the adapter plate.

bbk ssi can be ported and can run an 85mm tb.

FAST can be ported, comes with fuel rails, and can run up to a 102mm tb.

edelbrock single plane has to have a cowl hood. which kills it for most ppl. and only works well up in the high range.

edelbrock pro-flo requires cutting into the cowl. also a deal breaker for most. performance seems to be debatable.

since you only want 400HP the LS6 in a no brainer!
