Default Help - stuck in the middle of exhaust removal!

Hey,

Headers wrapped / ready to go. Exhaust unbolted from the manifold (Liquid Wrench was a godsend there).

Unfortunately, I'm having a hell of a time trying to get the six rubber isolation mounts off of my exhaust. Do you guys have any advice regarding how to force these suckers free (ie, which I should start with)?

In the hopes that some of you visit the form in the next 12 hours, I'm going to hold off until tomorrow morning.

Use the liquid wrench on the rubber hangers too.

It's not that they're stuck--it's more that I'm afraid that I'll break something if I put a ton of pressure on the mufflers. The rubber gives quite a bit, but not enough to get it over the end loops without some "help."

Still, I'll give it a shot.

Liquid wrench & a small pry bar. Some of them can be a pain.

What exactly are you trying to do install headers? What exhaust are you taking off stock?

Thanks guys--you were absolutely right. Little bit of thin oil (WD-40 or Liquid Wrench) works wonders. Even getting them wet helps (it's nasty, but I bet you could spit on them if you WANTED).
