Default Whining!

I have two different whine noises comming from the engine bay. One I believe sounds like the ac compressor. It's whine louder and follows the rpms. (no not power steering)
The other noise happens when I press the clutch. When the clutch pedal is pushed to the ground it makes a pretty loud whine like maybe it needs to be bled?

Also I have a buddy who built trans for GM for 8 years and he told me a long time ago that these trans don't need to bleed the clutch ever unless your taking it apart. Whatcha think??

I'd like to go mess with the car but can't in this neighborhood or even in this town without gettig harrassed

Hard to say without hearing it but sounds like a pilot bearing issue. Is it a whine or a squeal?

Whine. Took off both belts to make sure it wasn't any of the front accessories. Then some fat lady complained just because my hood was open.

give it time. some people have things to do. from what you mention, the noise when pressing the clutch sounds like a thrust bearing issue. worst case, also a bard pressure plate. for either you will have to drop the transmission. while you are at it, replace the slave cylinder as it could be on its way out as well.
good luck
