X-Pipe? H-Pipe?
Whats the difference (other then the obvious H pattern and X pattern) is there a benifit to having one over the other and what if you dont want an X or a H pipe what if you use straight pipes...is that better or worse. Need some info please
Thanks

X-pipe will scavenge better than an H-pipe for obvious design/flow reasons.
An H-pipe will sound better usually though, but X- is the way to go.
Straight pipes won't benefit from the scavenging qualities of an X-junction.

Exactly what South said....
Here is a good acticle.....

There was another one around here but I can't remember what it was......
It illustrated that the X benefited down low and up top substantially and the H pipe beat the X only by a little in the mid range.

Now, take their findings a bit further (and mabye a little wackier) but couldn't you get the best of both worlds by running a connecting pipe (H-pipe) a foot down further past the X-pipe towards the mufflers?? Now you get scavenging of the X and the H sound? Or am I a tard

"H-pipes" do sound "slightly better" (more muscle) but to me its not worth the loss in HP.
