considering hooker longtubes? DON'T!!!
Wow,
Ok let me start by saying...what the hell happened to you hooker??? I have bought over 50 pairs of hooker longtubes in the past for customers and my personal cars..well i took a little break from them and went with another company. a month ago i placed an order for a set for my new personal car...just got them today, and I will not install them. GARBAGE!! the flange is not milled flat like they used to be, the sealing surface is paper thin in spots, they absolutely will not seal if I install these. I will post some pictures up later, but i waited a month to get them, and all for them to look like a set of black jack headers for a 2nd gen. the 02 sensor holes aren't even drilled anymore.....seriously? garbage. i don't want to wait another month for some freakin headers that look like puke. absolutely ridiculous and very unprofessional to send these out to a customer.

really? i heard they got bought out or something..but this is just pathetic. Anyone want these things? i bought them through a sponsor who bought them from hooker..sort of a drop ship to drop shipper. so it will be a nightmare to get money back or even anything out of these. $300.00 plus shipping if anyone is interested lol. Ceramic coated non egr or air. I mean...this really blows, i needed longtubes because my cats are clogged and shattered into pieces internally. i had to wait a month to get them, and i'd rather drive around with clogged cats.

i bought some hooker longtubes and since have swapped (maxing out my car) and i looked down into the collector and the ****** primarys were all smashed and shoved in there....it was absolute garbage, i will never buy from them or recomend them again. there was absolutly zero craftsmanship while building those headers, it looked like one of the primarys was acctually half the size it was supposed to be because it was bent into the collector

Whats wrong with them?
The raised weld is to promote a good seal and is easier to seal up than a completely flat flange that may or may not have warped slightly in the welding process. You'll notice the weld is ground down level with a belt sander. You cant exactly do that on a flat flange
The angled section on the header flange is to clear the CTS for the drivers side and plug or aftermarket gauge sender on the pass side
The HO2 ports should be super thin so you can knock them out with a punch or simply ram them with a drill. Not everyone put EFI back on so instead of ordering plugs for the holes, they give you a knockout
IMHO, these little things show a good company tweaking the design to satisfy customers across the board. You're just too dumb to know what these things are for, so you post up about how awful quality is

anyways, just a warning. hooker has gone to hell, i don't know why or what exactly happened. I understand they are trying to improve the product...but they had it perfected before. now it just looks like a two year old put them together. vendor said they will take them back, and i ordered some pacesetter's. Never had a problem with them. I'm really sad about this whole ordeal because i really used to like the old design!

good! I'm glad you are happy with them I just got a bad set. honestly if it wasn't for the thin spot in the sealing surface i would run them oin my car. but i just don't want to be replacing gaskets all the time. the spot is so thin, a gm metal gasket, where the raised section is, wont touch that spot.
