Default Need input on stock pulley mod. Pic inside

This is a picture of a stock corvette pulley/balancer with the AC (rear) section cut away on a lathe. It is substantially lighter now, but the concern we have is whether or not removing this area will have an adverse effect on the dampening.

This is just an experiment, so please just state your input on the question at hand and don't reply w/ "just buy an underdrive pulley dumbass!!"

Thanks,

Al and Brandon

Just buy an underdrive pulley dumbass....

Nobody on here probably has a clue about this subject since it's probably never been tried, but if I had to guess I would definately think it fucked with the harmonics since those pulleys aren't designed to be hacked up.

Yeah.... I'd be pretty concerned about putting it back on the front of the crank after you have cut off part of it. Who knows what the balance is right now. You might be doing more harm than good by doing that.

That's just my oppinion, but think carefully before installing it.

Unless you can get it balanced, it's a waste.

Short and sweet
