Hey gang,

Had the LS1 Miata race car out with NASA at Thunderhill in northern California this past weekend.

Here's the first race:

I run out of gas because I'm an IDIOT and forgot to add fuel after running several test sessions and then qualifying.

Here's the Sunday race. There was a Corvette ahead of me that I have nothing for. There's also a long FCY in the middle of the video - sorry I didn't edit it yet.

As per usual, the soundtrack is the best part of this video... :)

Cheers,

Dean

Thanks for the videos. Yah, a lowered C5 or later Vette has the room for wider, stickier tires. Add that to a big wing & a good driver & they're hard to beat.

very nice, quick question, is the road racing crowd the same as the drifting crowd, having the LS motors "over used" of anything?

i want to get out on a track soon lol

Man.. I haven't driven T-Hill yet, but I want to!

Turn 5 on looks like a major 'pucker' turn.. Downhill, off camber.. yikes.. Like a damn roller-coaster!

Yeah, T5 in the bypass configuration is all of those things plus BLIND and very bumpy. We used to run the track in the opposite direction occasionally and if you stayed left (the jump-line, as my wife calls it) you could get 5-6" of air under all four tires. Great for the photographers, bad for the suspension.
