Default Question on swapping positions of oil pressure sender

I'm using VDO gauges and senders. The oil pressure sender from VDO is too large to go behind the intake manifold where the factory oil pressure sender was(is).

I would like to drill the removable block above the oil filter for installation of the VDO oil pressure sender, and in turn mount the oil temperature sender in the previous oil pressure sender location behind the intake manifold.

I trust this is a reasonable way to get around my problem. Is this OK, and will there be a detrimental effect on readings? I know on cast iron blocks, the temperature can vary 20 degrees difference depending where the temperature sender is placed.
