I can turn a wrench but I'm not so good at knowing what brands are good and not so I need some help... Already have my headers on order and will receive them soon so I want to do plugs and wires while headers are off... Am I goin in the right direction here with the Msd 8.5 wires and the tr55 plugs? Once I change plugs and wires do I Need to tune?
Thanks for all the help guys

Forgot to add I'm at about 73000 miles on y 99 ta

Thats what I'm running and I've never had any trouble. A tune would be nice but if your stock you would be better off replacing your fuel and air filters.

no tune needed for simple plug/wires change, but once you do the headers you will need to tune out your rear 02's......did you get race headers or EGR/AIR headers?.....if you got race, like me, you can remove the air pump and egr valve, then tune them out......no biggie.....i went with msd wires also, but got the ac delco iridium spark plugs.....tr55 you're supposed to change about every 20-25k miles, the iridiums last a little longer......both do well though

By far the most popular combo we sell. That's what I would do if it were my car. We have a package for both for $79.99. Let me know if you need some!

your stock exhaust has four 02 sensors......most likely the headers you bought will only have 2 bungs welded on for 02 sensors......so you use the front sensors in those, but the rears will need to be deleted from your PCM....it's very simple, but you've got to find someone with the software to do it or even a simple mail order tune can take care of this for you......

the wires on your stock 02 sensors are fairly short, Bosch part # 13111 are a replacement sensor with longer wires, or you can re-use your factory 02's if you buy extensions.....i don't care for most Bosch products so i bought extensions from TSP, but some people have good luck with the Bosch ones.....Denso also makes a decent short wire 02 that works with the extensions, but i think AC Delco 02's (stock ones) are the best.....Delco part # AFS 97, AFS 98

Are those the MSD wires with the multi-angle boots?

They are a straight boot that you can bend to fit however you like. Makes it nice for getting around header primaries.
