LS3 in LS6 CTS-V ECM compatibilty issues?
I'm planning on swapping my brand new ls3 into my 05 ls6 cts-v, but unlike Mallet Hammer's swap on the caddy forum, I have the harness, ecm, and sensor package for the ls3. My question is whether the ls3 ecm will work with the vehicle. Is the programming for the vehicle (stability control, gauges, cruise control, mpg metering, warning lights, etc.) on a separate computer, or would I have to get someone to copy the programming from the ls6 ecm to the ls3 ecm?

You might save yourself a lot of pain,
If you just bought the 24x to 56x converter and stayed with the LS1-B PCM, they are much more user-friendly and tunable compared to the E38 controllers anyway.
You wouldn't be able to transfer the LS6 tune file to an E38 controller, they aren't compatable and have a lot of completely different tables.
The LS6 CTS-V and ZO6 factory tunes, which were identical, were some of the best LS1-B files GM ever did IMO.
