ERL- 454 - Can I hit 600rwhp through an A6?
I shipped my car from Dallas to NJ (Cartek) to have them put it together tune it ect. I really don't know what it will put down. I'm guessing 550RWHP-600RWHP somewhere.
Dyno numbers are great, but my real goal is 9s NA. That said, do I have a shot at 600rwhp? How close will I be?
Build/ car
2008 C6 A6 (3600Stall/Stock Z51 gearing)
3100 lbs
ERL 454 4.185 bore
Over 11.5 compression
FAST 102
NW102
EWP
Cartek Heads and Cam
Kooks Stepped 1-7/8 to 2"
3 Inch Offorad X
Full 3 Inch Corsa Z06 Catback
Vararam

I have an E85 gas station less than a mile from my house. I might look into upping the compression and buying some 80lb injectors....
I don't know how much better the Trickflows would be. The guy porting my heads is supposted to be one of the best. We will see..
The E85 thing has my mind going though

RWHP does not always translate into a certain ET at the drag strip. Of course, horsepower is necessary to run quick times but there are so many variables that contribute to a low ET. Your new engine should make 600 rwhp and you should run in the 9s NA but only time will tell. For an example, I ran 9.60 with 490 rwhp in my C5 that weighs the same as your listed weight. I know of other C5s that make alot more power (100-200) but are still running in the 10s, or in some cases the 11s. Tires, converter, tuning, DA, track prep, etc. are all important in additon to car weight and rwhp. Good luck.

They are going to dial it in at the track to see if we can get it into the 9s (I'm going to fly to NJ when it's finished). After dropping all that money on a motor/supporting mods, it was an easy decision for me to pay an extra $1200 roundtrip to ship the car to make sure it's maximized.
It's hard to find service like that. I haven't heard of too many local shops going to the track with customers to reach a goal.

My very mild build WCCH Stage 3 headed Darton Sleeve 427 makes 577/530 with a very small cam though cats. It's an M12/3.42 setup. We never chased a number but put everything together well with excellent drivability paramount. I would think 600 through an A4 a locked converter with your cubes is doable if you have the right setup.

Good luck with your goals. I have a 440 block coming from erl about the same time you do. I am going with gm ls3 heads which will be hand ported. I think you will be fine with the ls3 heads with the large cubes. Everything else being equal I like the larger intake valve when lots of cubes are part of the package. I think some of the larger cube builds are starved for air on top end...assuming the intake manifold is not the culprit.
