Need someone to help me with an ipod classic/video 80GB. I bought it from somebody at work for 20 bucks...i tried restoring it on itunes and when i start it up it asks for the language setup, then when i go to see how much memory is on it it says 0KB used, 0KB Free?? Everytime i connect it to itunes it says its corrupt and needs to be restored. Anybody ever have this happen to your? Is there a fix or should i just throw it away? I followed all the solutions on the internet and nothing seems to be working. :(

I don't know if you have done this or not, but try holding down the button in the middle of the circle, and the lock button on top of the iPod for about 10 seconds.

thats happend to me before. Your memory is currupt, there nothing you can do about that. If i were you id just bring it to the apple store and see if they can fix it, if not then id just give them that one and use it as value to buy another one

It doesnt have a lock button on top like the ipod touch, just a slider type latch button to lock it like the old school ones. I trid all the reset options and i cant do anything with that. Sometimes the computer crashes when i plug it in.

The closest apple store is 4 hours away from me lol. I paid 20 bucks for it so it aint like i lost alot of money its just a $20 paper wieght i guess. I didn't know you could trade it in for value...do you know if theres a way you can call them and just ship it to them?

i dont think they dont do anything type of shipping like that. but i got this on mac forums after typing in "ipod classic 0kb used 0kb free"

Your iPod is likely stuck in Disc Mode.

Plug in the iPod to either Machine, press and hold the Center and Menu Button for about 10 seconds until the iPod resets. Then, while the Apple logo is till on the screen, press and hold the Center and Play button for about 10 seconds. The iPod should then show up in iTunes.

You can buy any part for about any type Apple product from here. I believe they also have the services so you can send it to them and they will fix whatever is wrong with it. I posted this so if you needed any parts or whatever, then you would know where to go but if you can fix it yourself, then by all means, lol.

This is what I was trying to get at. I'm betting this will solve your problem.
