Any combo ideas will be greatfully appreciated... I just bought a 427 LSX shortblock with dome pistons. It will be N/A with a carb. I am trying to figure out what heads, cam, intake and distributor to run to make 950+ HP. I will be adding nitrous on it also but not now. Can you guys throw out some ideas?

I am new to the LSX platform, but I am willing to put money that you are not going be anywhere near 950+hp in NA form.

I am also willing to bet that after you do your cam and intake and all the typical stuff, it is going to take over a 300hp shot of N2O to hit your 950+ goal.

What are you looking to do? Why 950+hp? Hope you have a very deep pocket...

Not hard to do, it just takes some money. There's a couple of heads from Mast that will get you there and beyond if you turn it hard enough with a proper intake and valvetrain. Your short block may or may not be capable of doing that though.

custom grind big lift big duration solid roller cam. shaft rockers. some sort of highly race ported ls3/ls7 head combo. fabricated straight runner aluminum intake. massive fuel system. custom 102mm+ tb. 2" or bigger primary headers. another thing, the only way to get those hp numbers, you are gonna have to spin that thing to the moon. make sure you have the best of the best fasteners, and proper crank and rods in your short block. but most likely it will take n2o to get there.

Everything you could possibly want is on this board already. A man with enough money to build the engine you're talking about shouldn't be asking to be spoon fed information for free from strangers on the Internet. Do some research. Posting this thread is not research.

Now that I've ragged on you sufficiently, here's a bit of help.

Joe Honeycutt made over 900hp NA with 418 ci I believe. At the time it was the fastest NA stock-suspension camaro in the world. He works (or worked) at LMR in Houston.
