243's,799's,317's??? n/a now, f/i later. Help spend my $$.
Not sure what heads to run, looking for some advise. Engine is currently a bone stock LS1 going into a 95 mustang backed by an A4 with a 3200-3400 stall from circle-d. I'm planning on running it n/a initially then going turbo later (could be a year +). Planning on running the stock cam at least while its n/a. So, the 853 really aren't worth putting back on, what should I expect if I run stock 317's without any decking for now? I know the compression #'s will drop from the bigger chambers, is there any real problem here? Anybody have any times or dyno #'s from running stock sized 317's on a stock bottom end LS1? The reasons I'm leaning this way are price and compatibility with f/i. Any suggestions?

^ I was thinking something similar, but didn't know how OP's budget was. I am tossing around the idea of a 390 build next year and was thinking of doing my current 243 heads on it till I can get the funds for F/I and after I get that taken care of, I was going to get a high end set of ~72cc chamber heads to compliment everything and bump the compression back down to run around 18# boost.
