Default Like to swap tranny.

I have a stock 98 ls1 camaro and my tranny is going out, my question is what tranny should I put in, a 350 or 400. Im not gonna have more than 500hp on the car. Any input appreciated. thanks

have you considered a built 4l60e? i mean a 350 or 400 arnt bad choices but just realize your losing overdrive and lockup clutch. A built 4l60e from a good company will have no problems with 500 horsepower.

i would do a 4l80 transmission and a big converter.

Depends on what your goals/needs are for the car. If you drive it a lot then keep the overdrive, if it is a weekend toy then go 3 spd
