Default EPS 226/230, tea 5.3 1.5, fast 92/92

I finally got the car tuned this morning at Norris Motorsports in Indianapolis. Went up last night and was there first thing in the morning. Everything went pretty well except for having to load the car on the trailer in the rain. I was expecting more horsepower as probably most people do but I was really surprised by the torque.

Car made 428.8/418.6 with the cutout open. Peaks around 5800 and carries all the way to 6300 and never really drops off.

Spec's are
Stock bottom end 346 w/ flycut pistons
EPS 226/230 .598/600 lift on 112+2 LSA installed on 109.5 ICL w/ 7.4 pushrods
TEA 5.3 1.5 heads milled to 59cc, Comp 921 dual springs w/ titanium retainers, MLS .051 gasket
Stock rockers w/ Comp trunnion upgrade
XS 1 3/4 LT's, 3in ORYP into flowmaster 4in merge back into stock SLP dual/dual muffler, 4in e-cutout
Ported Vengeance FAST 92, NW 92mm T/B
FAST Toys 98mm lid, SLP 85mm MAF, SSRA
Stock 28.8 injectors

Tick stage 2 T56 w/ Monster 3.5 clutch, stock 3.42 gears

First pull was 388/388. I didn't know if I was going to cry or throw up. Mike Norris looks at a few things and realizes I'm only getting 62% throttle opening. He goes to adjust the cable and says, "Damn punk *** kids! You put it in the wrong hole! I said my wife says the same thing.

There are two holes on the NW T/B and I had it in the upper one.

Second pull was 410 or so. He added some fuel and took some out up top and got 417. A/F was dead on at 12.9/13.0 the whole way with 28 degrees of timing.

With the cutout open it made 428.8/418.8. Close enough to call it 430/420 for me. The numbers are STD not SAE. It's a dyno jet.

I was kinda bummed about the low hp numbers. I honestly thought I'd pull 455/460. All the components are there, intake, compression, good exhaust, etc. My main concern was about the heads.

He says people call his dyno "The Humbler" I now understand why. He says his dyno is conservative.

On the way home I was thinking about everything and it hit me. 420ft lbs is pretty damn nice. I told Geoff@EPS I wanted good low/mid range power and didn't want to spin the **** out of it. I got exactly that. It has about 375ft lbs at 3000rpm and climbs from there.

I drove it when I got home and it drives good. No bucking or surging cruising in 6th. It's raining here so I can't get on it. I am really impressed how well the NT05R's are in the rain.

I am on my way to the shop and will post a graph soon. By the way the graph looks up top I think the valvetrain is stable. It doesn't take a nose dive after it peaks.

Looks like your tune is spot on which matters more than the numbers. Congrats on a solid setup!!

Nice bro! What did it put down with the cut out closed? I would have thought it would have been up there a bit more HP wise, but hey, if it's running good then your set. Keep me posted on track times if you get any. Congrats again!

Sounds like you got exactly what you wanted. Although if your chasing numbers un-advance that cam back to a 112 ICL and you'll get your 450rwhp.

Also, what coupler did you end up using for the MAF to the TB?

it appears the cam is peaking way early...? might have something to do with the low numbers.

i also don't necessarily think his dyno reads abnormally low. a 375whp a3 car trapped 116. seems pretty accurate. i also saw a 408whp stick car trap 116. so who knows. if anything it appears to be generous...?

Hard to tell by the graph to me exactly where the peak is, but it should be around 6100

If it's generous I'm definitely in trouble. LOL.

I used the stock one. It fit great on the SLP MAF and was tight on the T/B. I don't have my nitrous plate yet so I didn't want to mess with the elbow I bought.

There's a difference between a auto and a stick car dynoing at 430rwhp. If I was an auto I wouldn't be as worried about it.

I won't know till I take it to the track.

Deleted my post. After reading intenseblue's response it made sense. Sorry about that.

I'm not touching it. I'm tired of working on it.

I haven't been on a dyno that the owner didn't claim they had a stingy dyno.

My SLP just barely fits over my 85mm MAF and 92mm TB. If it was a half inch longer it would be perfect. I'm thinking of getting the one you linked me in a PM a while back.

Those are nice numbers. I wish i had the torque you got. Mike is awsome going to see him when i get my heads hopefully 460/420 for me. I dynoed 433/382 on the same dyno. All that matters is how it drives. Numbers mean ****!! Last summer i beat alot of cars that i though i never would, that had HIGHER numbers. Especially a certain 06 GT that made 456/455!!
