Default Need Help with Ignition lock cyliner replacement. URGENT

hey guys. I just got to my buddies house and the plan was to replace the ignition lock cylinder. Well the write up we had was for the ignition switch. Any and all help on how to get this thing out (cylinder the key goes into) would be greatly appreciated. We are dead in the water right now.

Thanks

Mike

Not an answer, more of a question for you.

What was the reason you replaced it? Were you getting "Security" lights on your dash due to worn contacts, or did something physically happen to it?

Here's a write-up with pics. If you go all the way through this, you just need to remove the bolt holding the cylinder in, thread the VATS wire back up through the column, and it will slide right out. (Be sure to pull a string, etc. back up through the column so you can pull the new wire back down again.)
