Muffler size to replace LM1 resonator?
Man I loved my LM1 before headers. Now with LT's Catted-y it sounds pretty gaudy up top. Without weight on the motor it's sounds sweet revving. But in gear sounds like crap.
I want something cleaner sounding and a little quieter. Was thinking Borla XR-1 or LM2. Is there a specific size I need?
What do you guys think sounds better/less obnoxious between the two? (yes I searched)
Thanks

I bought a Borla XR-1 Racing Muffler and I like it. I'm actually about to change it to Stainless Works 3 1/2 in catback and a new custom y-pipe. The muffler I bought I tried to get the same length as the resonator. I think it's 5 inches in diameter and if it's on a slammed car you have to be careful going up a driveway. I put the muffler right where the resonator was in the exhaust.

Yeah, I mean it does sound mean but just too crackly/poppy if that makes sense. But I don't think I like the sounds of magnaflow too much, I want to get back to how the LM1 sounded before long tubes

So I figured out why it sounded like such ****. My egr plate had basically gotten blown off. AND there was a huge leak. Sounds much much better now, I think I'll still change out to a borla though
