Default differnce between tap shift and auto

is there even a difference? if your at a dead stop and you floor it are the shift points the same? all tap shift does is let you choose the gear (except 1st is disabled if your going over 40mph)

You can run the gears out longer and there's no shift lag.

EDIT: It holds gears in Tap, so no the points aren't the same.

EDIT2: Auto (untuned) shifts at 89 into 3rd, Tap runs to 102 before hitting limiter in 2nd.

Thats because they are. In TAPshift the computer raises the line pressure of the transmission fluid.

Tapshift is a joke. I wish Pontiac would have give us the option to turn off overdrive and a performance button like the older GP's had

Is there a fuel cut-off in 1st at redline? I pushed my 1st a little too hard the other day and when I went to shift (around 5900), the car bogged real hard, then shifted.. Got me killed in my race against a 97 2dr GTP.. Which by the way, should NOT perform as good against us V8'ers ..

Mind you my tranny was around 205 degrees and the car was about 190... Lol.. His was just started on a lukewarm day.. He weighs 160, I weigh 260.. I had a 200lb passenger, he had no passenger.. Not sure about him, but I had a 3/4 a tank in gas.. I SHOULD have lost that, right?

Those Supercharged 3800's are no joke and they perform even better when cold since they don't have air to air coolers.
LS4's average mid to low 14's as do stock GTP's.
Drivers race..

^ Yep. Fuel cutoff is 6100 or 6200. Any time I mentioned missing a shift, that's what I'm talking about.
