Default Rattle on accel?

So I noticed on the way home for lunch earlier that every time i hit the throttle quick (i.e: accel into traffic, overtake on the highway, etc...) I get a rattling noise from the engine compartment. Its very short and goes away very fast, sounds like a chain running across a gear is the best way I can describe it. Its going into the shop tommorow evening, anyone got any brilliant ideas?

My 2002 does it too. I read that it could be a heat shield.

Definitely check exhaust components in the engine bay, anything loose or just barely touching the body will make plenty of rattling

Are you sure you're not hearing detonation/knock...?

^ Its amazing you jump to detonation/knock so quick!

OP your situation sounds alot like the ones described in a thread talking about exhaust heat shields.
