Default Gauge cluster repeat problem...LS1

So I'm having issues with my cluster in my 00 Trans Am. It seems that without cause, the tach and maybe other gauges, stop working. Sometimes the speedometer stops working also. Seems it just stops working at start and never fails during operation. Now if I unplug the cluster assembly and plug it back in, the problem is solved. BUT I can't keep removing the dash piece because the mounting tabs will eventually break. So what's up with this thing? Do I need a new cluster? If the cluster needs replacing, I'm gonna go with a custom Autometer gauge cluster that I'll piece together.

Thanks guys.
