Default 6L80e adapter harness for a 98-02 Camaro

Just curious if if or anybody knows if there is an adapter harness for a 6l80e trans to put on a Ls1 Camaro. And is it possible. I can get one of these transmissions for a great price and would like to upgrade to this. I know there is a tci 6 speed made from a 4l80e but that is way out of my price range. Thanks

I honestly do not think that a 6l80e is going to fit. Personally if I were going to upgrade from a 4l60e I would look at a 4l80e. Vince

I know they will be some fabrication to do. Which isn't a problem but that's pretty much all then. Thanks Vince

The fab isn't the problem. The 6L80e is a horrable transmission. They are nothing but headaches. There are VERY few tuners cabable of tuning them and no one makes a stand alone harness to controll it. IMO and a lot of others this would not be an "upgrade". Stick to the 4L60e or if you are making 750+rwhp go to the 4L80e.

Best reason for not trying to use 6L80E with LS1 engine is there is no way to make a LS1 engine comunicate with a 6L80E.

It can be done with LS2 two different ways, cheapest way is to Use Mast MotorSports M90 ECM and wiring package, but not heard of a way to do it with LS1 engine.

6L80/90E are not bad transmissions, they do what they were designed to do very well.

Like all the other automatics were when they first came out, the aftermarket and builder are trying to figure out how they truly works vs how they think it should works and what and where it needs to be modified or beefed up to handle more than even 430 HP its rated for if you try drag racing it are if you just hard abuse it on the street.

It holds up to normal driving condition when HP/TQ ratings are not exceeded, and even 505 HP at crank, again if you don't abuse it. Good for grocery getting and highway cruising.

Basically, any non 4L65E trans upgrade is going to run you well over $5k. Your biggest issue being that you have a non DBW and 24X motor. Just converting to DBW will be some coins, then flipping the harness and motor components to do 58x will be more cash. NOW you can get into transmission installation.
